According to technology sites, like tech2 and techtree, iPhone will be released on around 18th Aug in India. Vodafone will be first to launch 8GB version and Airtel will release it two weeks later.
Pricing is not clear, but It could cost around Rs. 15,000 upwards and some monthly contract plan. If there will be no monthly plans then the pricing can go Rs. 20,000+, because the price of iPhone 3G in US without any contract is around 500-600 USD.
Meanwhile to beat the iPhone rush, you can pre-register at Airtel and Vodafone online.
